We are committed to serving patients in the entire Southeastern Ontario region and beyond. Whether you require specialized imaging of the brain, spine, joints, abdomen, pelvis, or the vascular system, our experienced team of radiologists is here to meet your needs.
Referring Physicians
At Kingston MRI, we work closely with referring physicians to ensure seamless collaboration and comprehensive patient care. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with Philips’ D-Stream platform and advanced Compressed Sense technology, enabling us to perform examinations with improved speed and precision. Our dedicated imaging capabilities cover a wide range of areas, including the brain, spine, joints (such as knees and shoulders), abdomen, pelvis, and the entire vascular system, including the carotid arteries, aorta, renal arteries, and peripheral extremity vascular tree.
Patient Eligibility and Safety
Please note that not all patients are eligible for an MRI scan. Our radiologists will assess each case to determine the suitability of an MRI examination. It is crucial that patients inform us of any metallic implants or objects they may have. The strong magnetic fields generated during an MRI can displace or disrupt the function of certain metallic objects. Therefore, it is essential for patients to inform us if they have any of the following metallic implants or objects:
Patients with cardiac pacemakers or any metallic objects mentioned above cannot undergo an MRI scan and should avoid entering the MRI area. MRI scans are also not suitable for individuals with inner ear (cochlear) implants, brain aneurysm clips, certain types of artificial heart valves, older vascular stents, or recently placed artificial joints. Before the MRI study can be performed, patients will be asked to sign a consent form confirming that none of the mentioned metallic implant issues apply to them.
